Fact
Sheet 3
Cyber-scanning
of film sets or real world locations
Q:
What does this mean?
A:
Cyber-scanning film set and real world
locations means taking a powerful laser scanner to a site and taking millions
of reference points from the surface of objects and elements within that
location.
Q:
How is this done?
A: By using tripod mounted scanning systems we take scans from
fixed points on a film set. The scanners are small and portable, about
the size of a tool box. The scanners can scan at night which is good for
down time on set.
Q:
What do you need to scan a set?
A:
Access to view into the set so that we can capture all its forms. That
way we don't miss any areas and you get a good model.
Q:
Who long dos it take?
A:
The more complex the set is, the longer it takes to scan and build in
post.
Q:
What do we get?
A: You get a model of your set in CG format. We give data in most 3d formats
and with reference images. Alas we do not attach images to the models.
